This document provides information regarding our compliance with GPSR EU Regulation 2023/988 of the European Parliament. Lakeside Book Company is a book manufacturer based in the United States and does not import products into the EU. We are responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable manufacturing standards and providing safe products to our publishers. Our internal risk analysis relies on information obtained from our material and product suppliers and our own testing process of finished goods. This document certifies that the products used to manufacture books meet EU product safety standards.

Lakeside Book Company has determined that books and book-related components are generally low-risk in terms of GPSR product safety. Product traceability and information are provided on the product by the publisher or obtained through other means from the publisher. If Lakeside Book believes we have placed a non-compliant product on the market, we have established robust product recall procedures.

EU Product Safety Compliance: Based on the following, Lakeside Book Company believes that our product, supplied to you by Lakeside Book Company, complies with the European Chemical Agency (ECHA) European Community Regulation for Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemical Substances (“REACH”) as amended. Lakeside Book Company also adheres to restrictions on SVHC, including heavy metals and phthalates, and meets EU toy safety standards (EN 71-3).

1. REACH (EC1907/2006), RoHS (EC2002/95) & POPs (519/2012/EU) The requirements and specifications for the raw materials or products provided are communicated to our suppliers. Lakeside Book Company’s Regulated Products and Materials Specifications (RPM) are communicated to our suppliers and posted on our website -https://www.lsccom.com/_documents/supplier/lsc_rpm_safety_specifications.pdf . Lakeside Book Company’s products do not contain, nor do we intentionally add, any banned or restricted heavy metals, brominated flame retardants, phthalates, or Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs) to the product.
2. PROPOSITION 65 (CALIFORNIA LAW) Based on information gathered from Lakeside Book’s periodic laboratory testing, this document confirms that the products used in the manufacture of books at Lakeside Book Company do not contain substances listed in Proposition 65 (chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer or reproductive toxicity, December 29, 2023) as intentionally added formulation compounds.
3. CPSIA Lakeside Book periodically tests with third-party laboratories to ensure our products comply with CPSIA requirements, including those concerning lead content, heavy metals (including TPCH 94/62/EC), and phthalates. Lakeside Book is committed to ensuring that any products we supply, both now and in the future, comply with the relevant legislation applicable at the time. Lakeside Book Company regularly confirms REACH, RoHS, and POPs compliance with our raw material suppliers. We utilize third-party testing laboratories to randomly assess compliance for REACH-SVHCs, CPSIA-Lead, heavy metals (including TPCH 94/62/EC), phthalates bans, and CA Prop 65 Sixty Day notices.
