[November 21, 2025] – WARRENVILLE, IL – Lakeside Book Company (“Lakeside Book”) announced today that it has acquired Baker & Taylor Publisher Services (“BTPS”), the retail division of Baker & Taylor. With this acquisition, Lakeside Book expands its service offering to include distribution and order-to-cash capabilities, providing publishers with streamlined and integrated solutions to sell, print, store, and distribute their books with Lakeside Book Company.
In addition to the book distribution services, the acquisition includes the print-on-demand (POD) manufacturing solutions in Ashland, Ohio. This complements Lakeside Book’s existing digital print platform and strengthens offerings to customers of both organizations.
Lakeside Book’s longstanding strength and stability in the industry, combined with the extensive distribution expertise of the BTPS team, make this acquisition a great strategic fit for the company’s end-to-end book supply chain portfolio. BTPS will be incorporated into the Lakeside Book Company brand and led by Michael Shea, President of Book Services for Lakeside Book.
